A red flag warning is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday in the Antelope Valley and the mountain regions of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, where widely scattered thunderstorms with dry lightning strikes and gusty winds are forecast.
Los Angeles County fire officials ask residents to call 911 immediately if they spot smoke, and to take cover if a thunder and lightning storm approaches.
